Scholarships for PhD candidates

The International Research Training Group "Catalysts and Catalytic Reactions for Organic Synthesis" funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) and the Schweizer Nationalfonds in January 2005 at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg (Germany) and the University of Basel (Switzerland) offers fellowships at the PhD student level.

The scientific program encompasses important areas of Catalytic Organic Synthesis such as catalyst development, development of catalytic reactions, catalyst separation, enzyme mimetics, study of mechanisms of catalytic reactions, asymmetric catalysis, total synthesis employing catalytic reactions.

We are looking for candidates with an excellent diploma, masters, DEA or equivalent degree in chemistry. An interdisciplinary and international coperation with the other scientific groups participating at the international research training group at Freiburg and Basel is expected. The scientific program is accompanied by an international training program with participation of internationally renowned researchers from academia and the pharmaceutical and chemical industry.
